Choose your participation level:
Registration closes October 4th.
Join us for Art Toolkit’s Watercolor Fundamentals with Maria Coryell-Martin this autumn! From October 11th through November 15th, we are offering a six-week online course with weekly videos, prompts, student feedback, and live sessions on Wednesdays, 4–5pm Pacific.
We’ll practice a range of foundational watercolor techniques, including mixing colors, brushwork, layering paint, and composition. You’ll build confidence in the studio with skills you can bring on your adventures everywhere.
Choose your level of participation! We are offering two opportunities for engaging and developing your watercolor skills: Live Access and Recorded Access. All students, regardless of participation level, will have access to recorded sessions and reference materials for at least six months after the final course session.
Live Access students receive the Watercolor Fundamentals Kit, and participate in live sessions with Maria, where she will guide you through the lessons, answer questions, and demo additional skills.
Recorded Access students will have access to session recordings and reference materials for those who wish to work at their own pace.

Maria Coryell-Martin is an expeditionary artist following the tradition of traveling artists as naturalists and educators. Since 2005, she has focused on painting polar and glaciated regions, working with scientists and on expeditions in the Pacific NW, Alaska, Canada, Greenland, and the Antarctic Peninsula. In the field, she sketches with ink and watercolor, and collects multimedia recordings to build her palette of place: a record of experience, climate, and color. This work inspires studio paintings for exhibits, as well as multimedia presentations and hands-on workshops to promote observation, scientific inquiry, and environmental awareness.
