Expressive Fruits and Vegetables with Ohn Mar Win
Grab your biggest brush and your favorite pigments and join us to play with color.
By The Art Toolkit Team
This is a recording from our live demo, Expressive Fruits and Vegetables with Ohn Mar Win on November 5th, 2025.
In this demo, Ohn Mar led participants through a loose and fun warm-up to play with shapes and value with watercolor. We mixed bold colors, then explored a wet-on-wet painting technique to capture the vibrant hues and dynamic forms of fruits and vegetables.
Follow Along and Sketch
Ohn Mar Win and Linda Yaj, a participant of the live demo, shared their sketchbook pages from the demo.
Thank you, Linda, for sharing your art with us! We love seeing participants’ work on Instagram.

Highlights from the Demo
Ohn Mar Win shared a joyful approach to painting with an emphasis on practice. We focused on shapes and values, starting off with a ten-minute monochrome value study.
Ohn Mar led us through playfully painting carrots and assorted fruits, loading her quill brush with pigment and letting her colors flow across the page in bold strokes. Ohn Mar’s use of wet-in-wet mixing encouraged colors to loosely blend together, and her sketches demonstrate how having accurate values are more important— and fun!—than accurate colors.
