About this Workshop

Join us online on Saturday, June 14th, from 10am to 12:30pm Pacific for Gouache Fundamentals: Learn Essential Painting Techniques with Jared Cullum!

This workshop will cover the fundamentals of gouache as both an incredible medium for painting landscapes and an alternative to watercolor. Through demonstration and explanation, participants will learn brush techniques, tips for achieving proper paint consistency, and ways to simplify subjects for effective communication.

Last year, Jared joined us for a fantastic live demo on gouache techniques. In this workshop he’ll build off of what he shared, taking a deep dive into using gouache for landscape sketching.

Like watercolor, gouache re-hydrates with water and is compatible with our stainless steel paint pans. Consider adding gouache to your palette, and be sure to check out our video, Exploring Gouache, for tips on filling pans and reducing cracking.

A bright red watering can rests beside a small black planting pot, set against a backdrop of various gardening tools and earthy tones. Sunlight casts soft shadows, highlighting the textures of the scene.
