1001 Water Street, Port Townsend, Washington 98368, United States
Salish Explorations opened at the Port Townsend Marine Science Center Gallery on Saturday, May 2nd with a special ArtWalk opening reception with Art Toolkit Founder and Expeditionary Artist Maria Coryell-Martin. Thank you to everyone (over 100 of you!) who came out on opening night!
Salish Explorations runs through July 31st, Thursday–Sunday from 12pm–3pm. Email us to arrange a special appointment.
The exhibit features field paintings and sketches from Maria’s Washington State Ferries artist-in-residency and time on the local beaches. Her work highlights how the Salish Sea defines this region through its shifting light and atmosphere. Maria hopes to encourage a deeper appreciation for changing marine landscapes, to see the familiar in a new light, and to seek adventures close to home.
There are a few ways to experience the exhibit and create art together this spring, from an Expressive Skies Sketch & Stroll to an in-person workshop with Maria! Learn more below.
