Staff Toolkits and Art

Our team is growing!

Today, we’re excited to introduce you to our Customer Service Team: Accounts Coordinator Chelsea Heron and Retail Specialist / Customer Service Morgan Terry!

Chelsea

Chelsea Heron joined the Art Toolkit team last spring in the role of Customer Service and Sales Support, and is now our Accounts Coordinator! Chelsea has never considered herself an artist, more an appreciator and superfan of the artists and makers she has been surrounded by in her life.

She takes joy in human-powered sports with her four-legged friends, Indi and Clover, and loves to collect oddities from her adventures in the mountains or on the coasts of the Pacific Northwest. Since starting work at Art Toolkit and packing her own kit with an Explore Palette and sketching supplies, Chelsea feels more inspired than ever to paint the beauty she finds in big spaces that make her feel oh-so-small.

Learning something new can feel daunting, but she is eager to fill a fresh Moleskine sketchbook with this summer’s adventures and document how her painting journey evolves. Thank you, Chelsea for sharing your reflections on art and life, and we’re thrilled to have you on the team!

Chelsea’s Supplies

Her Pocket Art Toolkit includes our standard supplies, plus:

Paints

The Explore Palette includes just six colors: Row 1: Transparent Yellow Medium, Permanent Red Light, Phthalo Blue; Row 2: Yellow Ochre, Quinacridone Rose, Payne’s Grey. Every color has a high degree of transparency, lightfastness, and is certified non-toxic.

These palettes include six empty Mini Pans, inviting you to fill the remaining space with your favorite colors.

Morgan

Morgan Terry joined our team earlier this year as our Retail Specialist and the friendly face people see when they walk into our shop! More recently, they have been supporting our Customer Service Team as well.

Morgan began working with us when they had recently started painting again and their daughter Sloan was only six months old. As a solo parent, they didn’t have much free time to spare, and even though they hadn’t used watercolors much, they secretly participated in the Direct Watercolor Challenge this past June.

An assortment of art supplies arranged neatly, including pens, brushes, a sketchbook with watercolor portraits, a palette with paints, a binder clip, and a syringe, all placed on a white background.

They enjoy painting portraits, and their daughter Sloan is the most beautiful person they’ve ever seen. So, they set out to paint one 30-minute painting of her every night after bedtime. They now have over 40 paintings of her, and they have come to love the whole journey, from using watercolor to the process and the fact that they found time to make her.

Morgan enjoys their Pocket Art Toolkit and Black Pocket Palette, which are filled with Zorn Palette colors. They use an Aquash Water Brush (to avoid spilling icky paint water in bed!) and a Pocket Moleskine Watercolor Album. They keep other fun things in their Toolkit, just in case.

Morgan’s Supplies

Their Black Pocket Art Toolkit includes:

Pocket Palette

Paints: (Mini Pans) Titanium White Gouache, Ivory Black, Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Red Scarlet

Mixing Pans: (3) Large Mixing Pans
