Wildflowers in Watercolor with Sushma Hegde

Online Workshop

Saturday, May 18th from 9am–11:30pm Pacific

Registration closes at noon the day before the workshop, or when the workshop is full.

Join us online Saturday, May 18th from 9am–11:30am Pacific for Wildflowers in Watercolor with Sushma Hegde!

Spring is in the air, and what better way to spend it than by painting a beautiful array of blooming wildflowers?

Watercolorist and flower enthusiast Sushma Hegde will guide you through the basics of mark-making, color mixing, and understanding how to achieve the right water-to-paint balance. In her workshop, you’ll paint fresh-from-the-garden wintercresses, clovers, and forget-me-nots to create meadow-inspired floral arrangements. Come and learn the art of simplification to avoid getting caught up in all the details while painting flowers. You’ll pick up the technique of maintaining loose and whimsical strokes by directly using watercolors, skipping the common step of starting with pencil sketches. Sushma is the author of Wildflower Watercolor, an incredible step-by-step guidebook available in the Art Toolkit Bookshop!

We hope to see you there!

How Our Workshops Work

When you register for a workshop, you will be invited to join the Art Toolkit Learning Community, where you can share your work and connect with other students.

In addition to the community space, each workshop has a dedicated area where you can post and read information specific to the workshop, and download supplemental materials such as reference images.

Our lessons are live streamed, which means you’ll need a computer or mobile device with access to the internet. If you’re not able to attend the live lesson, don’t worry! We send a link to a recording to all students, which will remain online for at least six months.

All Art Toolkit Workshops are listed in Pacific Time, so please double-check the start time and adjust for your timezone as necessary.
