Introducing Masking Supplies

Learn about a trio of masking accessories, now in our retail and online shops!

By The Art Toolkit Team

A watercolor palette with various colors sits next to a partially completed landscape painting of a lake with sailboats. An open sketchbook displays the artwork, while a sponge, masking tape, and pens are arranged next to it in a dark blue case.

We all have our go-to tools when it comes to creative supplies. As Art Toolkit has grown, so has the community of artists who share their favorites and encourage us to try new things. Recently, we added some new accessories to our online shop, helpful for capturing bright wave crests, stars in the sky, and highlights on a subject. Pair these supplies with a roll of Art Toolkit Washi Tape for clean lines and bright whites!

A Trio of Masking Accessories

  • Pebeo Drawing Gum is a paint-on, removable liquid frisket that masks areas of paint, ink, and graphite, available in a 1.5oz bottle.

  • Molotow Liquid Masking Pens protect your bright whites and mask detailed areas with a fast-drying, blue-tinted formula that removes cleanly.

  • Grafix Liquid Frisket Removers are natural rubber tools used to easily remove dried masking fluid and rubber cement residue.

Mask the areas you intend to leave white using a Liquid Masking Pen or with Drawing Gum and a brush! Once liquid masks are dry, you can paint over them with watercolor, gouache, and other wet media.

As a final step, when your painting has completely dried, remove the masking fluid with a Liquid Frisket Remover.
