Introducing Holiday Sets

This year, we teamed up with artists and paintmakers to bring you two special offerings for the holidays!

By The Art Toolkit Team

Art supplies laid out on a white background, including a sketchbook titled Draw Your World a watercolor palette with vibrant paints, a water brush, and cards titled Trail Tiles alongside holiday decorations like holly and berries.

As a special for the holidays, we’re offering two Holiday Sets for the artists in your lives. Both are collaborations with friends who have inspired us over the years and we hope they may bring you or your loved ones joy through art.

The Trailbound Set

We’re excited to announce a special set of adventure art supplies, a perfect complement of small supplies for your adventures from high mountain peaks to urban parks and cafés.

A metal tin labeled "Trailbound Sketches Trail Tiles" with a colorful landscape illustration and a blank square. Next to it, a red container with watercolor tiles, a blue pen with a refillable brush tip, and a small watercolor image of two figures walking by a lake.
Paper, a palette, and a paintbrush for adventure sketching!

The Trailbound Set is a limited-edition collaboration between Art Toolkit and Trailbound Sketches that features a Red Demi Palette engraved with custom artwork by artist-adventurer Max Romey in a drawstring bag, along with Trail Tiles and a Mini Aquash Water Brush. Max is the Founder, Artist, and Director at Trailbound Sketches.

A hand holds a tube of yellow watercolor paint above a small metal palette, with paint poured into one of the compartments. A color chart with swatches and names is partially visible in the background.

Each Demi Palette includes eight Mini Pans ready to fill with your favorite paints and arranged in an arch over one Small Mixing Pan. Team Trailbound also put together a special folded bookmark insert with swatches of Max Romey’s top eight recommended colors for inspiration to get started. We offer his favorite colors in Daniel Smith 15ml tubes: visit our paints page to pick eight!

Trailbound Sets fit perfectly in both Pocket and A5 Art Toolkits or secure the palette, tin, and brush with a 4'' Silicone Cross Band and stow them in a pocket, purse, or backpack!

Each limited-edition Holiday Set is available while supplies last.

A Custom Engraving for the Demi Palette Lid

For this project, we co-designed a special bright Red Demi Palette with a custom pan arrangement of 8 Mini Pans in an arch over a Small Mixing Pan in the center.

A red watercolor palette with a white empty section and six gray paint wells is displayed centrally. Two red lids flank the palette, one open and one closed. Surrounding the palette are holly leaves and red berries, creating a seasonal vibe.

The custom lid design features a hiking boot footprint sketch by Max Romey, symbolizing Trailbound Sketches’ North Star as an impact documentary studio and their mission to paint it forward. Inspired by Max’s experiences in the field and on the trail, where he sees the impacts of other people’s footprints, we hope this Demi Palette can help remind fellow creatives to paint it forward and be mindful of how our footprints impact the places we love.

A red watercolor palette sits on the ground among fallen yellow leaves, next to a small cream-colored pouch. Behind the palette is a color chart depicting various watercolor shades, with a mountain landscape illustration.
Team Trailbound encourages everyone to “paint it forward!”

The bootprint, engraved on the front of the palette and printed on the cotton drawstring bag, is from one of the shoes Max retrieved from Katmai, Alaska, during the filming of Footprints on Katmai, where he collected, stamped, and sketched every piece of footwear found while supporting the Ocean Plastics Recovery Project (OPR). Trailbound Sketches chose this specific footprint because it came from a particular shoe that reminded Max of his years as a trail runner.

The background features colorful, stylized mountains with a playful encouragement to be curious and paint.
