Port Townsend’s annual Rhododendron Festival is this weekend and we are excited to announce our new shop hours—now open later and on Sundays! For locals and visitors alike, we invite you to swing by the Art Toolkit shop in downtown PT to pick out supplies for some urban sketching! Spot the reds and pinks of our state flower on floats in the Grand Parade and try your hand at gesture sketches as marching bands flow from uptown’s Lawrence Street to downtown’s Water Street.⁠

Last week, artist Mike Daikubara (@mikedaikubara) instructed Color First, Ink Later, an Art Toolkit Workshop. Participants were guided through a method of loose watercolor painting, adding ink after the paint had dried! We loved seeing what participants created during his workshop.
