Inspired by the deserts of Rajasthan
The Reth Palette is our collaboration with Trupti Karjinni of Blue Pine Arts. Trupti chose colors inspired by her travels to Rajasthan’s deserts, where miniature painters still use hand-ground paints made from minerals and precious stones.
The six pure-pigment colors in this palette capture the vibrant beauty of the reth, or desert, of beautiful Rajasthan. From the intense blue skies to the Jaipuri’s charming pink attires and Jodhpur’s iconic blue houses.
A colorful combo
This palette contains Gold Ochre, Madder Kiss, Sky Blue, Indus Blue, Mace Burnt Sienna, and Indian Red Chilli. All paints are lovingly hand mulled in India by Trupti at Blue Pine arts.
Accompanying the palette is a sketchbook, hand made with renowned Indian handmade watercolor paper - 100% cotton, 220 GSM, cold press. These handy sketchbooks are bound in cotton cloth with the traditional Rajasthani block print design.
The whole package is bundled in a flower print cotton bag, sewed from upcycled material by Rajasthan women from industrial fabric waste. The culture and heritage of Rajasthan are in every element of Blue Pine’s offerings.
