Pulling inspiration from Lisa Spangler’s walk in the woods, we invite you to explore the browns, blacks, yellows, and reds in your palette to explore painting mushrooms. Start by swatching mushroom colors in your sketchbook, like Lisa did in the photo above. Then, experiment painting little, white mushrooms with inky dark shadows and roots and a bulbous, orange-red mushroom to stretch your exploration of color and form.⁠
